Some of our most loved designs do not begin on a mood board. They begin with a woman.

The Rena Dress was first created for a student named Rena, who wanted something special for her graduation. Together, we decided on the details that would make the dress feel right for her - the length, the height of the slit, the curve of the opening and the way the gathering would sit on her body.

The result was so beautifully balanced that other women began asking for the same design.

And that is how the Rena became a VANDAMOD favourite.

Made from premium polysilk and fully lined, the dress has a smooth, polished finish with a modern, body-conscious silhouette. Adjustable straps allow for a more personal fit, while the side slit brings movement and a little confidence without overwhelming the clean lines of the design.

What makes Rena especially meaningful to us is its beginning. It is not simply a design that we created and asked women to fit into. It was created with a woman and then shared with many more.

The Rena follows the body with a clean, modern silhouette while the draped and gathered detailing creates softness around the waist and hip. Rena began as a conversation.

She was a student preparing for her graduation and wanted a dress that felt right for her - not simply a dress chosen from a standard size and standard length. We worked together on the proportions, the slit, the curves and the gathering until the design felt like hers. When other women started loving the result, we realised that this was something worth sharing. So we named it Rena - as a reminder that sometimes the best designs begin by listening to one woman.
