The skirt introduces another element of movement. Fabric is elegantly gathered and draped across the hip before falling into a long side cascade, creating the impression of a soft, flowing knot. It adds shape around the waist and hip while allowing the remaining fabric to fall naturally towards the floor.

I wanted to combine two very different ideas in this design: craft and fluidity.

The neckline is structured and tactile, inspired by the way materials can be woven together by hand. Then the skirt becomes completely fluid, with the fabric gathered at the hip and allowed to fall freely towards the floor.

That contrast is what makes the dress interesting.
